Is it me or does the new guy in my life have something to hide?

Ok so I recently met this guy. I've had my fair share of disappointments so I told myself from the very beginning that if he isn't what I'm looking for,then I'm not gonna waste my or his time. We've been chatting online for a while. We kinda have a history and did meet years ago. I went to school with his younger sister. I got in touch with her a few months back. We Instant Message each other now and again. Some nights her brother would I.M me from her blackberry. We would have casual chats but he was a mellow guy. I liked that. Plus he was single...so bonus! Lol. Or so I thought. Anyway as time went by we started to open up and share lots of stuff and started chatting daily. I was really open about my job,hobbies and aspirations for the future. But I feel like he is being evasive. He never answers a question directly. Its like he is answering it from a sideways angle or something. I also feel like he's overly affectionate way to soon. We can never have a serious conversation. Like he just wants to call me pet names all the time and is always missing me. I want more out of him. Like intellectually. Its like we communicating on one level. So I decided to fact find. We planned to meet each other for lunch and a movie this weekend. So I've been asking some questions. He says he has a job where they install electric gates. But he is always listening to music all day and sends me constant messages during supposed working hours. On 2 occasions this week I asked why are you IMming at work. So the first time he says its been raining so he didn't go. Then the 2nd time he says it has been cold and they work on site so that's why. But he is still IMming from his sisters Blackberry because the profile pic is of his siter,her baby and her bf. I find this dodgy. He knows employment is a must in relationships for me so I feel like he is being evasive. The next incident was when I told him to call me so I can hear his voice. So he calls but uses like 4 different numbers! So I asked well which one is yours so I can know. Then he was like oh I called you from my Dads phone and also from my sisters phones? So I'm like but if you're working , why? Then I realized I don't even think he owns a cellphone! Let alone a Blackberry! When I question him he gets defensive. He is always online from his sister and his moms phone. When I told him I don't like that for privacy reasons, he said I don't wanna talk to him anymore? If he cannot afford to phone me? How will he pay to take me out to lunch and a movie? I mean does he think ill pay for the first date? No. He is very clingy and can't wait for us to go out. Some of the stuff he says just doesn't make sence and doesn't add up. So before I do go out with him, please tell me am I being paranoid? Or is he being evasive and secretive? Feeling like a nutjob right now. Does he have something to hide?
